How Serious are the Buyers? Part II

In the first part of this series (How Serious are the Buyers?) we examined the least serious buyers - the ones that come to open houses. Now let's take a step up and look at the next level of buyers that are more serious about purchasing a house.

Drive-by Buyers that Call the Listing Agent

The next step up on the ladder of buyers is the buyer that calls the listing agent to see the house. They may have seen it online, in the Real Estate Book, or picked up a flyer from the for-sale sign. These buyers are willing to make a time commitment to meet an agent at the house to view the property. Even though they are serious enough to make a time commitment, they often are not serious enough to commit to one real estate agent. Often they will call the listing agents of many homes for sale rather than commit to one agent and have that one agent show them all the houses they wish to see.

If you are serious about buying a home, like I said before, at some point you will need to contact an agent. Do it sooner rather than later and take a step up the ladder...
